Our new 4U JackRabbit-M units have capacities from 12-24TB. With 750 MB/s per RAID card for RAID6, this system is capable of sustaining up to 1500 MB/s of aggregate IO with a second RAID card option. Pricing for a well configured 12288 GB (12TB) server with 8 processor cores, 16 GB ram, 1x Infiniband, 2GB RAID cache, IPMI 2.0 for remote management, and 6 Gigabit ethernet ports starts at $10,975 USD. The 18TB and 24TB models are priced at $13,585 USD and $16,369 USD respectively.
Our updated 5U JackRabbit units have capacities from 24-48TB. With 750 MB/s per RAID card for RAID6, this system is capable of sustaining up to 1500 MB/s of aggregate IO. Additional RAID cards are possible; up to 4 may be configured per unit, subject to configuration constraints. Pricing for a well configured 24576 GB (24TB) server with 8 processor cores, 16 GB ram, 1x Infiniband, 4GB RAID cache, IPMI 2.0 for remote management, and 6 Gigabit ethernet ports starts at $20,405 USD. Please contact us if you would like to order one or more units, potentially log in to our demonstration unit, or talk about how Scalable Informatics JackRabbit can help you solve your most difficult high performance storage problems.1+ GB/s sustained
Scalable Informatics announces the immediate availability of the Scalable Informatics JackRabbit benchmark report. Sustained IO rates of 1 GB/s and higher were observed for IOzone.
Scalable Informatics JackRabbit storage systems are available from Scalable Informatics and our partners. These highly capable high performance units are available as storage appliances for highly simplified integration, or storage servers with your choice of Linux (2.6.18 kernels and higher), or Windows 2003 x64 server. Solaris may be offered if requested.
7.2 TB/U density, 200+ MB/s per U performance
Scalable Informatics JackRabbit 36 TB storage system is one of the densest storage systems available on the market today. At 7.2 TB/U, JackRabbit can provide an astounding 288 TB/41U rack.
Local file system performance is observed to be in excess of 1 GB/s sustained in end user test cases, and standard benchmarks. This translates to a dominating 200 MB/s sustained IO rate per rack unit. 8GB/s sustained IO rate per full rack (8 JackRabbits). A 1 PB configuration of 28 JackRabbits would have an aggregate sustained IO rate of 28 GB/s. Additional RAID controllers may be added to each unit in order to increase this performance.
Welcome to Scalable Informatics JackRabbit Site
Scalable Informatics JackRabbit systems are cost competitive, highly reliable, and high performance multiprocessor storage servers. These systems have demonstrated more than 1GB/s in uncached sustained large block reads from RAID6 disk using IOzone and bonnie++ tests while streaming 32 GB from disk. With native 4-port Gigabit Ethernet, and optional Infiniband/10GbE capability, the Scalable Informatics JackRabbit can serve far more data per unit time to end users than traditional NAS/SAN systems, while doing so with RAID6 hardware protection, failure tolerance, and much better absolute cost per GB.
Each 5U system is able to hold 48 of 750 GB SATA 300/NCQ drives, for a total of 36 TB raw per system. Each 3U unit is able to hold 16 of 750 GB SATA 300/NCQ drives, providing 12 TB raw per system. up to 4 RAID controllers may be used in a single unit, each with up to 2GB battery backed cache. Each RAID controller is capable of more than 750 MB/s using RAID6.
These units are also available in a Storage Cluster configuration, leveraging the Redundant Array of Inexpensive Nodes paradigm. These Storage Clusters can scale in capacity from 2 nodes of 72 TB RAW capacity, to at least 4 PB. Moreover, with the RAIN paradigm, multiple levels of failure are tolerated, including within a server, and one or more servers themselves, without losing data, and serving it at GB/s speeds.
Scalable Informatics JackRabbit supports NFS and CIFS/SMB file systems, FTP file servers, and iSCSI target and initiator capability. Scalable Informatics JackRabbit may be configured as a point storage appliance solution employing OpenFiler (simultaneous NAS and iSCSI), or as a server product. When configured as a server, Scalable Informatics JackRabbit runs RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 Advanced, SuSE Enterprise Linux Server 10, and OpenSuSE, Centos, Ubuntu, Caos3, Windows 2003 x64 Server, and other OSes.
The Scalable Informatics JackRabbit enables a cost effective, highly reliable, and high performance approach to solve your most complex computationally and data intensive problems.
